Rest is spiritual, and recently, our family has had the opportunity to get away, relax, refresh, and recharge. Retreating is spiritual. A wise mentor of mine says that life really isn’t a marathon, it’s a series of sprints. Which is why it’s imperative that you schedule time in between sprints to reset your soul and prepare for the next series of sprints ahead. While away on a family retreat, our family visited a church we regularly attend when we are away from home. The message, by Pastor John Lindell, was at first glance, not one that I thought I needed to hear. (Isn’t that always the ones you ended up needing the most?!) The message was on healing. I want to share the link to the message below because he is such a wonderful communicator, I couldn’t possibly do the message justice. But before you watch, just know that Pastor John uses the scripture passage from John 4 where Jesus heals the official’s son. I didn’t make the connection at the time, but that was exactly where I would be picking up in my own personal appointment time with Jesus, this week. As I reread the passage, and reflected on Pastor John’s message, I realized that this passage is not only about the healing of the son, but also, almost more importantly, about edifying the body of Christ. When the official’s son was healed, the whole household then believed in Jesus. Not just becaues of the healing itself, but because of the faith of the father in the house to even journey to Jesus and ask for healing in the first place. This Christmas, as many of you who read this blog are parents, or one day wil be, make your faith in Jesus big enough and loud enough in your house, that there is no question in your children’s mind that you believe in GOD, not just the blessings that come from believing in Him. Enjoy the message, friends!
